Jurisdiction Clause
All Car Insurance policies include liability cover to protect you against claims from third parties (refer to third party and liability claims in this glossary for more details.) Any liability insurance policy will include a jurisdiction clause. The jurisdiction clause will stipulate which country’s courts will have the authority to hear cases and decide on law suits that may arise from legal action resulting from a liability policy dispute. In most cases liability policies issued in South Africa will limit jurisdiction to South African courts only.
